Project description

The main aim of MINRESCUE project is to develop innovative concepts for managing, recycling and upcycling coal mining waste geomaterials (CMWGs) generated by coal mining activities. The core objective of the project is to develop and validate a strategy to upgrade CMWGs as constituents in sustainable construction materials and products. This will enable significant money saving and environmental footprint reduction. The project will provide ready-to-use tools that will be used to promote sustainable and durable reuse of CMWGs improved by a specific procedure or by chemical additives for the production of high-end building products and structural/infrastructural components. MINRESCUE will significantly contribute to the establishment of a circular economy in coal mining areas.
