Project summary

The main aim of the project is to develop a technology for obtaining new products from mining waste generated during exploitation of a gneiss deposit and production of aggregate. The project is focused on elaboration of waste free technology of gneiss deposit exploitation along with utilization of mining wastes collected so far from Doboszowice 1 mine. It is planned to implement technology of selective mining and mechanical treatment of excavated gneiss with a process of mutual disintegration of rock grains being conglomerates of infiltrates and adhesion of rock-forming minerals of laminated and eyelet gneiss.

The technology is focused on separation of feldspar and quartz grains from femics and on separation of aluminosilicates. The first two are feldspar materials and femoral minerals will be a component for production of soil improvers. During the project implementation, the following activities will be carried out:

  • acquiring new knowledge about minerals,
  • testing of wastes from grits and decorative stones production – definition of their physico-chemical properties,
  • testing of waste samples and definition of their processing properties,
  • technological tests on constructed crushing node, enabling determination of grinding process parameters, which will result in separation of joined mineral grains,
  • performing of waste treatment attempts to determine possibilities of production of feldspar products and components for soil improvers.
